Desert Botanical Garden April 2017

It is always a pleasure to visit the DBG. They have a vary rare variegated Saguaro. When we visited the butterfly pavilion we got the opportunity to release recently received new butterflies. They were shipped overnight from Florida. The shipping container was kept cool with ice in order to keep the butterflies calm. As you can see they were packaged two butterflies to an envelope. To release them, we carefully tore open the envelope, waited for them to warm up and then fly away. An unexpected fun way to punctuate our visit!
